Keyland Agrees Land Sale For Doncaster Housing Development

Keyland Developments Ltd, the property trading arm of Kelda Group and sister-company to Yorkshire Water, has agreed the sale of a brownfield site with residential consent in place, to Duchy Homes. The circa 2.2 acre decommissioned reservoir site is accessed directly off Green Lane on the western edge of Scawthorpe in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Surrounded by residential development, the strategic site has lain vacant since becoming surplus to Yorkshire Water’s requirements. Keyland Developments secured planning consent from Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council to bring the redundant site back into use as a low density residential scheme to contribute to the housing needs of the local area with a high quality new development. Duchy Homes, an acclaimed Yorkshire house builder and NHBC Best House Builder of the Year in Yorkshire and North East*, will develop the site to offer high quality housing which will include four five-bedroom houses, five four-bedroom house and three detached bunglows. Work is expected to commence in May 2016 with the show home being ready for viewing in early 2017.

“This site’s positioning, in an existing residential area, lends itself ideally to a new homes scheme of this nature. We worked closely with the Council and the local community to masterplan a development that would make a positive contribution to the locality by bringing back into use a redundant, brownfield site. The land sale to Duchy Homes means that the development will be brought forward by a well-respected local development team and we are delighted to have started the regeneration process on this key site.”

Matthew Naylor, Development Planning Manager for Keyland Developments

“We are delighted to have agreed this deal with Keyland Developments which will be our fifth development in the Doncaster area coming on the back of our award winning sites at Sprotbrough and Braithwell, as well as Cantley. Once the redundant reservoir is demolished, the site will offer a quality development of homes and bungalows built to our usual high standards. The site is extremely accessible and has excellent transport links with the A1 and A638 and of course Doncaster centre via the Doncaster North Park and Ride. Green fields and quality housing surround the plots along with a historic water tower at the entrance to the site. We are confident the homes will prove popular with commuters and families alike.”
