Keyland’s JV with Evans Property Group Ltd won Deal of the Year

Sept 2022 – Congratulations are in order! Keyland’s JV with EVANS PROPERTY GROUP LIMITED won Deal of the Year at the Yorkshire Insider Media Property Awards, for the sale of land at Skelton Gate, Leeds.

A large part of the Skelton site was designated Greenbelt and Templegate Developments secured the first Greenbelt release in Leeds since the Unitary Development Plan was adopted more than 15 years ago. The site had been open-casted for coal and required significant reclamation works to make it suitable for development. The Templegate joint venture had to secure financial support to reclaim and provide infrastructure on Phase 1 of the site.

Although resolving these issues proved more difficult against the background of the pandemic; by early October 2021 the major issues had been resolved. Working closely with Evans Homes, the Templegate team managed to complete the sale by the end of October; meeting the Homes England milestone.

The site will be the most significant regeneration scheme in the #leedscityregion, the transaction will enable the provision of much needed new homes and assist Leeds City Council in meeting its housing targets.
