Development Surveyor

Keyland Developments Ltd, a sister company to Yorkshire Water, is a strategic land promoter unlocking thousands of new homes and millions of square feet of employment space across Yorkshire, with a focus on sustainable development.

We’re looking for a Development Surveyor to manage the acquisition, management and disposal of Keyland’s property portfolio, maximising capital and land value. You’ll work closely with Yorkshire Water’s Land & Property and Legal teams to negotiate acquisitions, manage tenanted properties, and seek out new strategic land opportunities in the open market.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Appraise and negotiate development opportunities across Keyland’s portfolio
  • Negotiate acquisitions and manage complex land issues with YW’s Legal team
  • Manage tenanted properties, including leases, dilapidations and service charges
  • Appoint and manage external consultant teams (agents, lawyers, planners, architects)
  • Monitor project costs and coordinate with Keyland’s accountant on returns

What you’ll need:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the property sector, and RICS membership
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements around property acquisition and disposal
  • Experience managing consultant teams to deliver against business plan targets
  • Understanding of planning and development legislation
  • A full UK driving licence (max 6 points)

 

Location: Leeds city centre, hybrid working
Contract: Permanent, full time (37 hrs/week)
