Development Planner

Keyland Developments Ltd, a sister company to Yorkshire Water, is a strategic land promoter unlocking thousands of new homes and millions of square feet of employment space across Yorkshire, with a focus on sustainable development.

We’re looking for a Development Planner to promote properties within Keyland’s portfolio through the statutory planning system, securing marketable consents. You’ll identify and progress land opportunities across Yorkshire, negotiate with landowners and agents, manage sites through the legal sign-up process, and liaise with local planning authorities on behalf of the Company’s portfolio.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare offers and tender submissions for new land promotion agreements
  • Negotiate Heads of Terms with landowners and agents
  • Manage sites through legal sign-up and report on progress quarterly
  • Liaise with planning authorities and attend community/planning committee meetings
  • Support external PR and business development activity

What you’ll need:

  • A relevant town planning degree or equivalent, and RTPI membership
  • Sound knowledge of the statutory planning system
  • Experience managing consultant teams to deliver planning permissions
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • A full UK driving licence (max 6 points)

 

Location: Leeds city centre, hybrid working
Contract: Permanent, full time (37 hrs/week)
