A chartered Town Planner and former Chair of the RTPI Yorkshire Young Planners Committee, Beth joined Keyland in 2019 having built an impressive reputation in planning consultancy.

With her natural aptitude for strategic thinking Beth has been instrumental in developing Keyland’s site search initiative, whilst also managing Local Plan representations and planning applications for the many diverse sites within our portfolio. Known within the team for her calmness in the face of any challenge, Beth’s creative and thoughtful approach plays a vital role in the ongoing success and evolution of Keyland.

Since joining Keyland in 2007, Peter has driven the company’s ambitions to be a catalyst for change in the regional property sector.

Responsible for developing our successful PPA programme, which opens our services landowners across the region, Peter has been instrumental in redeveloping hundreds of acres of unused land for new homes and employment space in Yorkshire. Peter has also overseen our ambitious Blueprint for development, leading the team to change the way that development is delivered. Described by his colleagues as intuitive and resilient, Peter is a natural leader who makes his team feel they each play an important role in genuinely making a difference.

Following a career as a chartered Town Planner in local government and consultancy, Luke joined Keyland in 2016 to lead its planning initiatives, bringing forward consents on complex strategic sites across the Yorkshire region.

Luke has been responsible for devising our Blueprint for sustainable development and his work with a team of consultants has delivered a UK first – the creation of a pioneering Valuation Model to measure the value we create from our Six Capitals approach to development. Known for his unending supply of energy and an ability to persuade teams to share his enthusiasm for all things Keyland, Luke is committed to ensuring that we fulfil our bold ambitions to be a real pioneer for sustainable development, delivering meaningful change across the region.

An experienced chartered Town Planner, Matthew joined Keyland in 2021 bringing a wealth of planning consultancy expertise to the team.

A detailed thinker with a forensic approach to breaking down and resolving problems to deliver results, Matthew manages our team of industry leading consultants to prepare and submit Local Plan representations and planning applications for the numerous sites within our growing portfolio. Described as a tenacious and meticulous planner with an extensive knowledge of the statutory planning system, Matthew’s perseverance and problem-solving capabilities make him an invaluable part of the Keyland team.

After building a wealth of experience as a chartered surveyor working for some of the region’s most high-profile real estate firms and developers, Catherine joined Keyland in 2018 from her role within Yorkshire Water’s Land & Property Team.

Catherine drives the development and disposal of Keyland’s existing property portfolio, whilst also leading on the transfer of new sites from Yorkshire Water. Known by her colleagues and contemporaries as a versatile and outgoing professional, Catherine’s knowledge of surveying, along with her experience working as part of the operational Yorkshire Water business, makes a vital contribution to her strategic role at Keyland.

Mike joined Keyland in 2024, bringing considerable planning and commercial experience to the Keyland team through previous roles in local government, planning consultancy and land promotion.

A chartered Town Planner since 2007, Mike has guided developers and landowners through the technicalities of the planning system and has managed project teams to deliver commercially-viable planning permissions across a range of sectors.

At Keyland, Mike’s strategic expertise plays a key part in growing Keyland’s successful Planning Promotion Agreements (PPA) initiative, managing consultant teams on Local Plan representations and planning applications, and leading on our new Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) initiative.

Joe Boothman

Land and Development Manager

Joe joined Keyland in 2024 after over six years working for Yorkshire Water’s Land and Property Team.

A Chartered Surveyor since 2020, Joe has developed a strong understanding of the wider Kelda Estate in his previous role, gaining specialist knowledge on utilities and specifically telecoms, which is a key strength he brings to the Keyland team.

At Keyland, Joe works closely with Yorkshire Water to identify and promote development opportunities within their portfolio, looking at traditional developments as well as newer renewables opportunities. This will be done alongside a focus on further growing Keyland’s successful Planning Promotion Agreements (PPA), Energy and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) initiatives.

Established in 1987, Keyland operates across the region and has a successful track record of regenerating surplus land and property from Yorkshire Water’s portfolio.
